The Fault in Our Stars Review

The Fault in Our Stars

  • Novel - The Fault in Our Stars
  • Author - John Green
  • Published Year - January 2012

The fault in our stars – the book which will leave you with tears in the eyes at the end. Written by John Green, this book is his most well-known book so far. It is a story of teens fighting against a deadly disease Cancer. Soft hearted and sensitive people may get disturbed in some parts of the book. The book left me in a mixed feeling of grief, love, sympathy, happiness etc.
I do not have the right words to describe this amazing book or one must refer it as a ‘piece of art’. Whole book is just beautifully written and is very fascinating.

Storyline:

The book "The Fault in Our Stars" starts with Hazel Grace, a 17 years old teenager like us except the fact that she is suffering from cancer and has to carry her oxygen tank along with her everywhere. Hazel’s mother forced her to join some cancer kids support group seeing her depressed condition but she didn’t like the idea much as she does not likes to interact with people. But she anyways went there for her mother’s happiness. There she meets a guy named Augustus Waters who came to support one of his friends and also a survivor of some cancerous disease. Hazel is determined not to start romance with him but eventually both ended up being attracted by each other. The book tells us how she desires to wish his favorite author who lives in Amsterdam and how Augustus help him to go there and meet the author.it was in Amsterdam only where they confesses love to each other but as soon as they return back to their city Augustus found his health getting worse and soon he died leaving Hazel behind.

Why one must read the Book

I cannot talk of the book "The Fault in Our Stars" without mentioning the brilliant plot of the book. This book is way more enthralling, funny and educational than you can ever think of. A person dyeing and surviving the death of their beloved ones will leave you crying for sure. Each and every thing in the book is real especially that horrifying cancer disease and the fact that John didn’t sugarcoated the pain, you will be forced to feel it on every single page of the book. The book is definitely not an ordinary book to me. It is simply extraordinary. One must read it not for others but for themselves as it will encourage people.

Movie on - The Fault in Our Stars

Moreover, there is a movie also based on the book. Directed by Josh Boone , named 'The Fault in Our Stars'  released in the year 2014. One can also see the movie if he/ she does not like reading books much, as the story of the novel and the movie is same. The movie is an American Romantic Tragedy. And the movie will not lessen the effects and emotions of the story, and as the book, it will also leave you in tears at the end. The acting of Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace and Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters was remarkable. Each actor in the movie depicted their character soo well. So if not the book, then the movie for sure!.
But you just can't skip this.
